WordPress: A How-To

Thursday, April 10, 2008

Never used WordPress before?

Well, here’s a simple little primer on how to use it.

If you’re “already hip,” then visit wordpress.com and sign in with your username and password

Once you have logged in, you’ll notice three funky buttons at the top of your screen

My Account– This is a dropdown menu that will allow you to “surf” other user-generated tags and content, view your comments, contact support, visit wordpress news, and log out.

My Dashboard— This is the meat and potatoes of your blogging. This is where you click if you want to write or edit blog posts, manage your comments, and design yourself a pretty page.

New Post— Quick link to write a new post.

So, now you want to…

Write and edit a post?

Change the look of your blog?  Add a widget?

Please let me know if there is anything more specific you want me to show you.  I would be more than happy to offer you assistance.

Happy blogging!
