From an article in Portal: Libraries and the Academy, Megan Oakleaf frames a clear comparison around three different models of assessment: fixed-choice tests, performance assessments, and rubrics. I invite anyone having difficulty determining a path towards assessment for their own instruction program to read Oakleaf’s article, “Dangers and Opportunities: A Conceptual Map of Information Literacy Assessment Approaches.”
